The Assembly member for Wamaso-East under the newly created Twifo Atimokwa district in the Central region, Kwame Anane Yamoah is craving for more water facilities which will serve inhabitants with safe drinking water.
Speaking in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com, the Assemblyman expressed grave concern on the stress people go through as they access potable water due to the minimal number of boreholes available in the area.
According to him, the main town which is Wamaso could only boast of a malfunctioning water reservoir that is currently facing inconsistency with the supply of water to residents.
He said this has created the situation whereby some people have resorted to accessing the poor stream at the edge of Wamaso town which he feared could endanger their lives with respect to water borne diseases.
He also noted that there were inadequate borehole facilities, saying that the whole area has a minimum of two boreholes which normally creates undue pressure on them.
He therefore pleaded for urgent moves by the Assembly and other development agencies in providing more boreholes to relieve their plight in the area.
