AHANTA W: Assembly procures new grader

The Ahanta West District Assembly in the Western Region has followed the trend of most developed Districts to procure a brand new grader aimed at improving roads in the area.

The District Chief Executive, Joseph Dofoyena who confirmed this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com,said the facility which was procured through the assembly’s Common Fund is expected to be paid within 10 month quarterly installment.
 
He said most roads have started benefiting significantly by making them motorable after the procurement except the Old Akodee road which was suspended due to its rocky nature.

He added that the assembly then called on the Feeder Roads Authority to help construct the Akodee road and added that works on the said project resumed last Friday to ensure its completion.

Touching on education, the DCE further noted that the assembly with finance from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund) has finance the construction of a 3 storey classroom block for the St. Mary’s Senior High School to boost teaching and learning in the area.

However the project is still under construction and expected to be completed soon.
