FANTEAKWA: More communities enjoy potable water

Water

The Fanteakwa District has achieved significant progress in attempt to improve potable water delivery for the people in various communities and institutions in the district.

This progress was chalked through the provision of new water facilities and improvement of existing ones to meet the demands of larger number of people.

They include the construction of 25 boreholes for educational institutions including Begoro, Nsutam and Osino Senior High Schools, the District Hospital at Begoro and some communities.

The district also benefited from 2-solar powered mechanized boreholes situated at Ayigbe Town and Asuyiri. The most reliable source of water for domestic use in the Begoro, the Osubin Spring water has also been harnessed in terms of accessibility and quality.

Additionally, construction of 2 Small Town Water Supply Systems at Dedeso and Ehiamankyene are on going with the Dedeso system completed while that of Ehiamankyene has been suspended for lack of funds. Progress has also been made on the Begoro Town Water supply system by the Ghana Water Company Limited.

All these interventions are believed to significantly the water deficit the people are confronted with while authorities work out ways of addressing other areas also in need of water.
