AMA: Residents elated over security light project

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly headed by Dr. Okoe Vanderpuije with a mandate by government to improve the level of security in the area has since 2009 installed streetlights in almost all of its electoral areas.

Before the installation residents of Accra had lived under fear of being robbed of their belongings or losing their lives through activities of armed robbers and other blood thirsty criminal who perpetuate their dubious activities in the dark.

As at now areas such as Mataheko, Ansarudeen, Odorkor lorry station, Kojotso in the Darkuma West electoral area, and Opetekwei have so far been provided with security lights.

Others include Chorkor, Santana, Agege Atomic Area, Avana, Akoto Lante, Mempeasem, Adanmadze among others.

Some residents who expressed their appreciation in an interview Ghanadistricts.com noted that the installation of such lights have made it possible for them to roam about in Accra any time even at odd hours without an aorta of fear in them.
