JAMAN N: Assembly constructs emergency unit, 2 CHPS

CHPS compound

In a bid to fulfill the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) five on improving maternal health, the Jaman North District Assembly has rolled out a number of projects to achieve success in the afore mentioned sector.

They include the construction of an extra emergency unit at the Sampa Government hospital and 2 Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound at Nsonsomea and Jamera.

Confirming this in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com the District Chief Executive for the area, Hajia Amina Amadu said the projects were a sign of the better Ghana agenda which promises to improve the welfare of Ghanaians.

She believed should more of such facilities be executed especially in deprived areas, some maternal death cases recorded by the health directorate would be a thing of the past adding that most CHPS compound have nurses to attend to such emergency cases.

She believed the emergency unit at Sampa and the CHPS compounds which are at various levels of completion would be completed before the end of August next this year.
