The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District Assembly has covered a minimum of 1 and half kilometers of new street lights at the Sawla township in its efforts to ensure the sustainability of the streetlighting project being rolled out in the district.
In this light, as many as 150 street lights have been mounted on the commercial streets of Sawla to help discourage the possibilities of criminal activities in the area.
It is also to complement government’s energy delivery programme initiated for communities, so as to contribute in improving the status of towns in the Metroplitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDA’s).
Mr. Mumuni Isaac Dramani, District Chief Executive for the area made this known in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com.
He also revealed that about 104 of the facilities have been installed at Tuna, another major town in the district.
According to him, the project which was discharged with the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) also forms part of moves to keep the “Better Ghana” agenda on track.
