Chiefs, pastors, elders, and the entire folks of Akyem Oda were in high spirit when an ultra-modern, healthcare centre, equipped with the state of the art equipment, known as the Community Hospital Oda was inaugurated in the area yesterday.

Located in the heart of the town in Nkwantannum near Kwame Norway, the Community Hospital Oda is a 100-bed facility project that has just been added to the Community Group of Hospitals project throughout Ghana, to augment the services of other hospitals in managing patient care.

Giving his opening remarks during the inauguration ceremony however, Mr. Akwasi Acquah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Community Group of Hospitals said his long time dream has been to serve both the young and the old by providing them with efficient and exciting healthcare.

He assured that the Community Hospital in Akyem Oda will continue to uphold the tenets of the group’s commitment by offering the best in health delivery, organise periodic health screening exercise, and many other unique programmes.

“Our patient services include the best in emergency, medical, and surgical care. We are proud to provide high quality, technically advanced, critical care services,” he said.

For his part, Mr. M. A. Azongo from the Birim Central Municipal Assembly who represented the Eastern Regional Minister said government will also make conducive laws to attract more private companies to offer health services adding that government will not also relent on providing more of such infrastructure in the country especially in deprived areas.

He however cautioned the management of the Community Group of Hospitals not to compromise efficient health delivery for profitability.
