The king of mamprugu; Naa Boahagu mahama Abdulai Sheriga has called on government and the electoral commission to consider creating two new constituencies from the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo constituency and the Nalerigu constituency .
According Nayiri, both constituencies has attainted the stage of elevation which require the constituency to be splitted within the shortest possible time.
Nayiri noted that, the two constituencies fall under his traditional area, and therefore he is very familiar with the residential population and that of the voting population. He revealed that, the two existing constituencies have several communities which are widely spread and making it difficult for development to meet the population of these areas.
He again disclosed that, government would meet its agenda and promises for the people more effectively should more districts and constituencies be created.
Naa Boahagu explained that, the creation of these constituencies would impact positively in creation of employment, infrastructural and national development.
The king thanked President Mills and his Vice for showing commitment to the mamprugu traditional area which has further improved in the quality of Education, Health, Agriculture, Water, Sanitation, Roads, and Electricity and Employment.
The Nayiri called on government to consider putting the Gambaga College of Education (GACE) into government’s budget for infrastructural development.
He however was happy that, Walewale Secondary School, Nakpanduri Secondary and the Bunkpurugu Secondary School are upgraded as boarding institutions, this he mentioned will tremendously give way for more enrolment in both secondary and Tertiary institutions in the traditional land mark. He assured government that, peace and unity has completely returned in kpemali over the recent clashes in the Bunkpurugu/Yunyoo District.
Na Abdulai outlined these when he addressing the gathering at the inaugural ceremony of the Mamprugu Moaduri district in the northern region.
