SISSALA E:286 women engaged under GSFP

The Sissala East District Assembly has practically engaged over 285 local women residing in the district to work under the Ghana School feeding Programme, as a result of now incorporating all schools onto the programme.

 At least 52 matrons have been given the opportunity to support the programme, whiles a minimum of 186 cooks also have been offered jobs to improve their wellbeing in the area.

This was made known in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com by the District Chief Executive for the area, Sulemana Alijata Gbentie.

Highlighting on the issue, she stated that the Assembly has currently managed to cover all schools in the School feeding programme to offer school children the avenue to be fed nutritious meals whiles at school.

She further indicated that the programme has ostensibly increased school enrollment in the area, and has also given room for high retention in schools alongside to keep the promotion of quality education on track in the district.

She however pledged the commitment of the Assembly to ensure the sustainability of the programme through constant monitoring and support.
