L M KROBO: 8, 000 desks for basic schools

Desks

The Ministry of Education has assisted the Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Assembly with GHC87,000 worth of dual, mono and hexagonal desks for schools in the municipality.

The 8,000 desks are meant for basic schools in the municipality including new classroom blocks constructed under the “Schools Under Trees” project.

Municipal Chief Executive, Isaac Agbo-Tetteh, said the intervention from the education ministry was timely as it has helped to resolve the furniture deficit in schools. To him, the success storey would not have been complete if they had failed to resource the classrooms especially the new ones with enough sitting materials to give the children the needed comfort for teaching and learning.

The desks, he indicated, included 4,000 mono, 3,000 dual and 1,000 hexagonal desks for nursery and kindergarten pupils.

He said, though all the schools have been allocated their desks, some of them were yet to transport them to the schools and urged heads of the various schools to move in quickly to collect them.
