Authorities at the Presbyterian College of Education at Akropong in the Akuapim North Municipality have appealed to government to fix elevator on a four-storey administration block under construction for the school.
The call which was made when the Regional Minister, Mr. Victor Smith visited the project site to inspect progress of work is hoped to facilitate the movement of physically challenged persons in the school to access offices without assistance while also providing easy access for other users of the structure.
The facility which was started late last year is said to be behind schedule because of irregular flow of funds from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) fanciers of the project. They therefore appealed to the minister to assist in ensuring that the project is completed by December this year.
Estimated at 1.4million Ghana cedis, it consists of 34 offices, conference room among other important facilities.
Mr. Victor Smith on his part commended the contractor, MIC-Farm for not holding back and complains like other contractors who abundant projects for lack of farm. He assured of getting details from the GETFund secretariat on ways to improve payment to speed up the project.
