The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly with funding from the Ghana Education Trust fund (GETfund) has for the past 2 years initiated twenty-seven new school projects in effort to get rid of schools under trees in the area.

However, four of these projects are said to be completed and in use whiles the remaining 23 are at various levels of completion to improve teaching and learning.

The completed projects include seperate 6 -unit classroom blocks with ancillary facilities at Waakrom and Baifikrom,  2-unit classroom with ancillary facilities for the Obidan Potwabim M/A Primary and a 6 unit classroom block for Bishop Lamaire JHS at Saltpond.

The Municipal Chief Executive for the area Henry Hayfron who made this known at the assembly’s meeting noted that the assembly is making proper supervision to the contractors working on the remaining 23 to expedite work to ensure their early completion.

He further noted that the assembly was facing problem with regards to sitting a new classroom block for the Islamic school at Immuna since the site allocated to the assembly by the community was not accessible.

He however urged the chiefs and people to allocate a different site to the assembly to enable the commencement of the project.
