AFIGYA-KWABRE: MP passes away

The Member of Parliament for Kwabre West constituency in the Ashanti region, Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, has been confirmed dead at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The Former Ashanti regional Minister is reported to have been battling with some ailment for some time now.

 Hon. Owusu Ansah was also an Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association on the ticket of Kumasi Asante Kotoko. He has served in Ghana’s Parliament for two terms, 2004 to 2008 and 2009 till his unfortunate death on Friday morning.

The 73-year-old was also a former deputy Attorney General under the erstwhile Kufuor administration.

The death of Hon. Owusu Ansah is the second to hit Ghana’s Law House ahead of the December polls after MP for Wulensi, Alhaji Saani Idi, passed away early this month after a short illness.

Hon. Owusu Ansah left behind a wife and five children.
