LAMBUSSIE K: Assembly/Gov’t covers more areas with electricity

The China Water Electrification Project and the Self Help Electrification Project (SHEP) both major programmes laid down by government to boost the energy delivery in local communities are progressing steadily in the Lambussie Karni district.

The District Chief Executive for the area, Clement Benin in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com noted that a minimum of 35 communities have been covered with electricity courtesy the China International Water and Electric Corporation (CWE) project being rolled out in the district.

He claimed that towns like Kangual, Kohuo, Sentu and Yiziir amongst others were part of the 35 beneficiary communities under this move.

According to him, there has been a considerable improvement in the coverage of electricity in the district rising from initial record of 8 communities to 35 currently under CWE alone.

He maintained that giving the opportunity for more communities to be connected to the national grid in the district will serve as an impetus to push the economic growth of the area, as this will compel indigenes to stay and work and also attract other social workers to accept postings to the district.

However, some of the local communities such as Koro, Tampumu, Kpare and Billaw have all received electricity respectively under the implementation of SHEP in the district.
