AGONA W: ’Obtain permit from appropriate authorities’- MCE tells developers

Estate

Mr. Samuel Oppong, Chief Executive for Agona West District in the Central Region has made a humble call to all estate developers in the municipality to acquire requisite building permit from the appropriate agencies to avoid their structures from being demolished.

The MCE partially blamed the routine demolishing exercise carried out by the assembly on the inappropriate means of acquiring permit by some estate developers in the area.

He said his outfit is much ready to cooperate with those involved but will not hesitate to raze structures which are not in the records of the assembly.

Mr. Oppong said in an effort to normalize the situation in the area, the assembly has made progress to complete a new office complex to accommodate all decentralized departments in Agona Swedru.

He made this known when the assembly with support from the Swedruman traditional council organized a demolishing exercise on structures which pose threat in the area.

In other development, the MCE further called on residents to form watch-dog committees in their respective communities to help scale down the rampant snatching of mobiles-phones, bags and other valuable items, especially during late hours.
