AKYEMANSA:Etwereso-Anyinase Bridge under construction

A steel bridge

Construction of steel bridge over Birim River between Etwereso and Anyinase road is progressing steadily.

Mr. Victor Smith who was at the construction site to inspect progress of work called on the coinstructor to ensure quality work and timely delivery to the appropriate authority.

The 30 meters double carriage bridge is being jointly funded by the Government of Ghana which is responsible for the concrete work and the Spanish Government which provided the steel pipes.

The main objective being to provide safe and easy road networks to enable farmers to cart their farm produce to market centres and to open up the district to investors.

In addition to the bridge, a number of feeder roads totaling 170.9 kilometers have been approved for reshaping and spot improvement within the district.

Like many other communities in Ghana, the major mode of transport in the Akyemansa District is by road yet most of the trunk roads are not tarred and do not receive regular maintenance making transportation a very  difficult thing in the district.
