The Eastern Regional Minister, Victor Smith, has inaugurated a number of school blocks for communities under the elimination of Schools Under Trees project.
The 6-unit classroom blocks which come with other facilities including library, staff room and sanitary places were all funded through the Ghana Education Trust Fund.
At the Freeman Methodist Junior High School, the minister inaugurated 3-unit block for the school and canteen for the school feeding programme of which the school is a beneficiary. Akroso AMEE Zion Primary also has their 6-unit block and the canteen inaugurated.
The minister also inspected progress of work on school blocks at Amantem Nkwanta and Asuboa RC Primary.
Mr. Smith reminded the public that education is a shared responsibility and as government tries to satisfy the infrastructure needs of education in the various deprived communities, and restructure the sector to respond to the developmental needs of the country, parents and all other stakeholders should play their parts effectively to push education to the desired standard.
