A good number of deprived communities located in the Wa East District have duly been connected to the national grid to boost the social lives of residents in the area.
At least a total number of 25 local communities including Yaala 1&2, Kundungu, Tuasa, and Chaggu amongst others are now enjoying electricity in their various homes as part of efforts by government and Assembly to scale up the rural energy delivery in almost all communities of the district.
Disclosing this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive for the area, Ameen Salifu reiterated that the move was facilitated by government of Ghana through a partnership agreement with the China International Water and Electric Corporation (CWE) to extend power to the hinterlands.
He claimed that the development will help bring up a multi-sectoral benefit in areas such as education, health, and business to propel economic growth so as reduce poverty in the area.
