BUNKPURUGU Y: “Reg. Minister, DCE had no dealings in clashes”-Nayiri

Nayiri Nabohagu Mahami Sheriga the Overlord of the Mamprugu traditional area has debunked the reportage circulating in some media that the Northern Regional Minister, Moses Magbenba together with the District Chief Executive for the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo District Assembly, Philip Laari had some underground dealings in the unfortunate Bimoba/Konkomba clashes.

He therefore set the record straight by revealing that the conflicts in Kpemali had nothing to do with the DCE and the Regional Minister as it had been put in the public domain.

The Nayiri reiterated that the conflict was practically sparked from a chieftaincy and Land dispute matter. 

He however assured government that, since the conflicts were linked directly to him, he would work through and get to the bottom of the matter so as to achieve lasting solutions to the misunderstanding in the area.

The Regional Minister in his visit to the palace observed that it was most unfortunate for people to apparently tag him as being behind the unfortunate situation that erupted in the area when he earnestly worked within some few hours to get the army on the ground to contain the riots.

He therefore cautioned residents from both tribes to do their checks very well before communicating to the media on the volatile issue.
