AJUMAKO: Assembly to improve poor roads

Rehabilitation works are currently on-going on some major roads in the Ajumako/ Eyan/ Essiam District to improve transportation in the area.
Some roads including the Ajumako-Essuehyie road, a 400-meter stretch on the Techiman-Eshiem road, Enyan Denkyira town road, Breman Essiam town road, Abaasa town road, Bisease- Anyinasu- Assin Manso road and routine maintenance and pot-hole patching on the Ajumako-Swedru road were currently underway.
Mr. Peter Light Koomson, the Chief Executive for the Assembly who made this known at the assembly’s sitting, stated emphatically that the project was also aimed at improving socio-economic activities in the area and also help reduce hours spent on the roads by drivers and passengers due to the poor nature of the roads.
“All these projects are intended to reduce stress and travel time on our roads and also open-up inaccessible areas of the district to boost economic activities”. He added.
He however warned resident to desist from the constructions of illegal speed ramps on the roads ,adding that this is punishable under the law and that culprits could be arrested and prosecuted.
