SISSALA E:36 communities scheduled for electricity
 | | | Electricity project | |
The District Chief Executive for the Sissala East District Assembly, Sulemana Alijata Gbentie has emphasized that over 36 communities in the district have been considered to be connected to the national electricity grid by the end of the year.
She claimed that this will be realized under the China Water Electrification Project initiated by the government to support residents in certain deprived communities of the country.
Interacting with Ghanadistricts.com with regards to the project on board, the DCE assured that plans were far advanced as contractors will move into the district to begin works in the third quarter of the year.
Meanwhile, some roads in the district have been awarded on contract for construction, including Du-Bawiesibelle and the Nabugubelle-Dolizidon roads under the Northern Rural Growth Programme(NRGP).
This is an effort by government and the Assembly to reshape some of the bad roads to enhance transportation in general in the district.
