KINTAMPO S: 41 communities to be electrified

As part of the Better Ghana Agenda, 41 communities being deprived communities in the Kintampo South District in the Brong Ahafo Region will be connected to the national power grid very soon.
The project, which is in phases, will see 22 communities captured unto the programme in the first phace whilst the rest would be connected in due time or subsequent phaces.
Municipal Chief Executive for the area, Mr Kwadwo Nyame Datiakwa disclosed this when Nana Adu Baffo Adade II, Odikro of Agyina and his Elders called on the MCE, to discuss development programmes in the community.
He gave the assurance that funds for the project was ready and beneficiary communities would not be left out.
He announced that some mining companies would conduct feasibility studies in the district towards the prospecting of gold adding that the companies had been advised to seek the consent of the traditional rulers.
Nana Adade gave the assurance that his people would support the electrification project and appealed to Government to build a bungalow for teachers in the area as lack of the facility had caused some teachers to refuse postings to the place.
