MFANTSEMAN: Assembly to demolish weak structures soon

The Mfantseman Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has initiated plans to eradicate weak and dilapidated buildings that pose danger to lives and properties in the area.
However notice will be sent to occupants of the affected buildings which have been identified by the Assembly and earmarked for the demolition prior to implementation of the demolishing exercise.
Confirming this at an assembly sitting, the Municipal Chief Executive, Henry Hayfron stated that the exercise is aimed at ensuring proper security for occupants of those buildings in the area.
Meanwhile,the assembly has approved to engage in grasscutter, snailand fish farming as part of efforts to revitalize the agric industry in the municipality.
Mr. Hayfron described the project to be lucrative, adding that the assembly could raise enough profit to augment the assembly’s internally generated fund to ensure rapid development in the municipality.
According to the MCE, the project will also provide job opportunities for teeming unemployed youth in the area.
