The phase one of the street lighting project being executed in the Sissala East District has seen the Tumu township benefit from the installation of considerable number of street lights.
The move initiated by government through the various Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDA’s) is a strategic step to boost the level of security in all parts of the country, as well as enhance the status of the cities and urban communities in the country.
District Chief Executive for the Sissala East District Assembly, Sulemana Alijata Gbentie who revealed this in an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com said that the Assembly is yearning to extend the street lighting system to other communities to improve security district wide.
She however said, under the implementation of the “Better Ghana” agenda in the area, the Assembly was tied with the responsibility to target massive projects which are capable of boosting the social lives of residents, hence the Assembly will not relent on its efforts to make this a reality in the area.
