MFANTSEMAN: “Schools under trees will soon be a thing of the past” –MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive for the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region, Henry Kweku Hayfron has stressed government’s continuous effort towards provision of more educational infrastructure saying that “schools under trees will be a thing of the past”.
He said government through its development partners such the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ghana Education Service has executed enough educational projects to ensure that schools under trees is totally eliminated in the municipality.
According to him, the ministry is currently putting up three different 6-unit classroom blocks with ancillary facilities at Egyaa, Ekumfi Asaman and Eyisam Islamic schools.
Mr. Hayfron further stated that the ministry is also constructing the Ekumfi Ekumpoano and Hinii Primary School which he said were at various stage of completion, adding that contract has also been awarded for the construction of classroom blocks for the T.I Admadiyiyya and Aakra M/A primary schools.
The MCE however made this known when addressing members at the assembly ordinary meeting.
In another story, the assembly has taken delivery of about 24 brand new lap-tops computers to improve the teaching and learning of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the area.
