KWAHU S: E/R Minister commissions new electrification project

The Kwahu South District Assembly has made strides with the commissioning of electrification project and a Junior High School block for communities in the Kwahu Praso area council.
The electrification project which was executed under the rural electrification project also saw installation of street lights in Atuobikrom.
Eastern Regional Minister Victor Smith who commissioned the project said, connecting these communities to the national grid was a step towards enhancing socio-economic activities and urged the people to strive towards that.
He indicated that there is however opportunity for the creation of cottage industries especially those that made use of Agricultural produce as raw materials.
He thus urged the assembly and individuals to work towards its realization.
The Minister assured that the government of the natural democratic congress will continue to provide the necessary social and economic amenities that will improve lives of the people.
He also noted that though the assembly has done a lot to improve road infrastructure it is better if is covered with gravels and assured that efforts will be channeled towards achieving that.
The chief of the area speaking on behalf of the people commended government and the assembly on the numerous projects benefited from, including school block, extension of electricity, improved road network and the provision of potable water in a state of less than year as a sign of commitment towards improving the lives of the people and expressed gratitude.
He however called the establishment of additional primary school to decongest classroom which are overcrowded with pupils and provide opportunity for those who are of school age but are in the house because there are classrooms.
