KWAHU W: Permanent accomodation for MCE/MCD provided

Accomodation facility

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has received commendation for its bold initiative to construct its own residential facility for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD).

The municipality has over the years expended its meager resources on rented premises for its top officers and this was a huge burden on the finances of the assembly.

However, on assumption of office, Mr. Alex Somuah Obeng MCE for the area decided that the amount spent on paying rent could be channeled into building apartment for the MCE and MCD. 

He therefore decided to stay in his private resident while the money, which should have been used in paying his rent, is used for the construction, and with support from assembly members this became a reality.

Commissioning the project, Mr. Victor Smith Eastern Regional Minister commended the MCE for the sacrifice made to the assembly and the country and described the project as long overdue for a municipality.

Meanwhile, the MCDs accommodation is receiving finishing touches for commissioning and occupation.
