EJISU J: MTN funds new maternity block for Ejisu Gov Hospital

Pregnant women in the Ejisu Juaben Municipality will very soon enjoy maternity services from a new maternity block as a groundbreaking ceremony was held in the area recently for the commencement the project.
The facility budgeted at GHs 240.000.00 was funded by MTN, a telecommunication giant in the country, and is expected to be completed within six months.
When finally completed the facility would be equipped with the state-of-the-art facillties including a labour ward, rest rooms for doctors and nurses as well as an internal clinic.
Dr Joseph Oduro, Deputy Ashanti Regional Director for Public Health who cut sod for the commencement of the project said it would significantly help to improve the quality of antenatal care at the facility and help bring down the incidence of maternal mortality in the area.
He commended MTN for undertaking such a project in the area and was hopeful other companies in the country would emulate the telecommunication giant.
Mrs Cynthia Lumor, an official of MTN, was confident the project would enhance maternal health care at the hospital.
