About sixty-six (66) disabled persons living in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso Bekwai District of the Western Region have been supported with GHs 34,980 to help them improve upon their businesses.
Out of the number, 12 are currently undergoing apprenticeship in carpentry, dressmaking, hairdressing, tailoring and leatherwork.
The District Chief Executive, Joe Adansi Bondah who revealed this during the Assembly’s first ordinary meeting noted that 47 of them have received top-up packages to expand their business in tailoring, carpentry, dressmaking and hairdressing.
On projects, Mr. Bondah noted that most of the projects executed few years ago in the area were about 99% completed assuring that areas, which were not covered under the street lightening project, will benefit before the end of this year.
He took the opportunity to admonish Assembly members to eschew violence especially as the elections beckons.
