AKUAPIM S:Assembly qualifies for DDF, fails UDG
 | | | Assembly meeting | |
The Akuapim South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region has qualified to access fund under the District Development Fund DDF for 2010.
This was after the assembly recorded a score of 81% after going through the Functional Organisation Assessment Tool (FOAT).
The Municipal Chief Executive, Mark Dompreh who disclosed this to Assembly members at the meeting at Nsawam said the result is a good development as it showed grate improvement from the 2009 assessment of which the assembly scored only 18%.
He was however disappointed that the 81% could not guarantee them the opportunity fund from the Urban Development Grant (UDG) for Metropolitan and Municipal Assemblies. This was because the score fell short of the required marks. "We did not qualify to benefit from the UDG because our marks (81%) obtained for the DDF was just below the criterion of the nation average score of 83.6% for the DDF".
He informed the house that the next assessment, which will be for 2011, is due to take place from next month and urged the various departments to put their house in order in readiness for the assessment.
