KINTAMPO S: Water project to begin in three communities

Borehole

A sod-cutting ceremony has been held at Jema in the Kintampo South district to initiate a small town water project in at least three communities of the district.

The project will offer the avenue for these communities to easily access potable water that will boost the social lives of inhabitants living in these areas.

In an interaction with Ghanadistricts.com, the District Chief Executive for the area, Kojo Nyame Datiakwa hinted that the august project is earmarked for communities such as Jema, the district capital, Jema Nkwanta and Ampoma.

The project is powered by the African Development Bank (AFDB) with an amount worth GHS 900,000.

Also a similar event has taken place in Anyima, a small community in the district for the commencement of a GHS 700,000 water project financed by AFDB.

The move will pave way for the area to benefit from a clean and safe drinking water when the project is duly completed.

It is expected that latest by November this year these fine projects intended to facilitate the efforts of the Assembly in bringing water to the doorsteps of residents will be ready for commissioning.
