POLITICS:Third National Policy Fair launched

The third in the series of National Policy Fairs, meant to create a platform for dialogue between policy makers, implementers and the public was launched today in Accra.

Under the theme, ‘BUILDING TOGETHER IN A BETTER GHANA‘, the Fair is scheduled to take place from Monday 16th April to Saturday, 21st April,2012 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The six-day event would witness all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) as well as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) being brought under one roof to provide a one –stop access to the general public.

Launching the Fair, the Minister for Information, Hon. Fritz Baffour (MP) said the Fair is being organised in line with government’s commitment to factor the concerns of the citizenry into its policy decisions while offering opportunity for the general public to assess the performance of government and critique policies in an open and transparent manner.

The Information Minister reaffirmed government’s continuous resolve in its ‘’Better Ghana Agenda’’ to create a conducive atmosphere for Ghanaians and provide the citizenry with the right information on how their natural resources such as the oil and gas, mineral and forest resources as well as their tax revenues are being utilized.

The Fair would also be characterised by dialogue sessions to brainstorm and share expert ideas on topical national issues such as the Economy, Energy, National Development, Roads, Health Sector, Education and the Creative Arts.
