TARKWA N:15 life jackets for 2 communities

Two communities in the Tarkwa Nsueam Municipality in the Western Region have taken delivery of about 15 new life jackets worth GHs 600 to help reduce the frequent loss of lives on the Bonsa River.
Beneficiary communities include Aklika and Sixteen Million communities.
In her presentation, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Municipality, Christiana Kobinah reiterated that the move was towards ensuring safety of travelers on the river and reduce lost of lives drastically.
To complement this effort, the MCE also announced her outfit will in its best procure additional canoes to help facilitate transportation on the river.
She also disclosed that proposal for the construction of a bridge across the river is being considered appeal to operators of boats on the river to be mindful and observe proper safety measures. Mrs. Kobinah further advised beneficiaries to take good care of the jackets in order to prolong it use.
