 | | | Mr Mark Woyongo | |
The Upper East Regional Minister, Mark Woyongo is scheduled to visit the Bawku West District today for an outreach programme in most communities in the district.
As part of programmes on board, Mr. Woyongo will among other things showcase a good number of projects initiated under the “Better Ghana” agenda from 2009-2012.
District Chief Executive for the area, Moro Adam Anaba who spoke to Ghanadistricts.com with regards to the Regional Minister’s tour indicated that two of the innumerable projects executed in the district will be commissioned by the minister today.
He stressed that these were some major health projects completed by the Assembly which includes a Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) centre at Azowera and a 40 bed capacity children’s ward at the Zebilla district hospital.
“All things being equal, some crucial projects which were initiated in the area of water and sanitation, such as the over 75 boreholes drilled in conjunction with some development partners, as well as the record of 115 household and institutional latrines will also be showcased” he reiterated.
The DCE expressed confidence in the myriads of projects secured by the Assembly in various sectors of the economy, noting that these developments will largely earn his party some form of leverage in the district, as it gears to canvass votes from electorates in this year’s elections.
