WA E:DCE calls for assistance to reshape poor roads
 | | | Poor road | |
The District Chief Executive for the Wa East District Assembly, Ameen Salifu has bemoaned the poor state of the road network in the district.
He noted that because a number of roads in the area have not been engineered, it normally required a substantial amount of resources to enable the Assembly carry-out efficient projects in the area of roads.
This he said has partially affected the growth of agric in the district, as numerous farmers find it extremely difficult to transport their agriculture produce to the urban centres to market them.
Mr. Ameen Salifu made the observation in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com to discuss the state of the road network in the district.
He said this notwithstanding the Assembly has strived to tackle the poor shape of the road infrastructure in Wa-East. He for instance mentioned the rehabilitation of the Yaru-Naaha stretch which is currently ongoing to improve transportation in the area.
However the DCE has called on government and other development partners to come to the aid of the district and assist in reshaping the poor roads to push the growth of agric and also boost other commercial activities in the area.
