N TONGU:4 CHPS compounds for rehabilitation

North Tongu District Assembly in the Volta Region is to rehabilitate a number of health facilities in the district especially Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds to get them well equipped to meet the increasing patronage at the facilities.

This was disclosed to Ghanadistricts.com by the District Chief Executive, Bubey Dzinadu after the inauguration of the Juapong Health Centre.

He said human resource remains the most valuable asset of every community and their health must always be given the needed attention to ensure they are fit enough to give off their best in their various fields of endevours. It is in this light that the assembly spent about GHs 130,000 in completing the health centre which was started during the previous National Democratic Congress government but was abandoned until this administration committed funds for its completion.

According to him,  the Assembly has already budgeted for the projects which would include the CHPS compounds at Kpoviadzi, Tove, Mafi-Avedo and Sakpoe. “The assembly would soon meet on this matter to be followed by award of contract for the projects to commence, he stated.

Alhaji Bubey Dzinadu advised health workers in the district to conduct themselves professionally to win the confidence of people to visit the facilities to ensure healthy lives of the people.
