AGONA W: MCE interacts with traders

The Municipal Chief Executive for Agona West, Emmanuel K. Tetteh has assured traders in the “Mandela market” about measures deployed by the assembly to ensure their safety and comfort in the market.
The MCE gave the assurance when he toured the newly constructed market centre which was started by the previous government and was completed in late last year.
The facility includes a 10-seater water closet (wc) toilet, a day care centre among others.
As part of his entourage was Isaac Tetteh, the District Economic Planning Officer, Josephine Dennis market women’s member and Ebenezer Annoh- Kwafo, District Engineer.
Some traders who expressed their concerns to the MCE called on the assembly to expedite work on the warehouse within the market, since on several occasions they had to hire people to carry their goods to and from the market.
The market women vowed to pay any compensation due to the offer. Others also charged the assembly to as a matter of urgency vacate all traders in the street into the new market to prevent businesses within the market from collapsing.
In his responds, Hon. Tetteh appealed to traders who had not yet secured a permanent place in the market to exercise patients and cooperate with the assembly.
