CAPE COAST: Ankaful to get new cement factory

Plans are far advanced for works to begin on a new cement production factory under the name “CENTRACEM” at Ankaful, an electoral area within the Cape Coast Metropolis of the Central Region.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com the Metropolitan Chief Executive for the area, Hon. Anthony Egyir Aikins said the move was in line with efforts implemented by the assembly to assist scale down unemployment rate in the metropolis.

Hon. Egyir Aikins further reiterated that the establishment was also aimed at ensuring  constant supply of Cement in the markets. He said the assembly in this sense is working vigorously to partner AGROCOM Company to enable its immediate establishment.

Touching on economic activities in the area, the assembly is also constructing a 40-bay open market sheds for some selected communities in the metropolis. The GHC 155,000.00 facility financed through the assembly’s development fund is still on-going.

Beneficiary areas include Ankaful, Ekon, Efutu, Koforidua, Kakomdo and Brabedze communities respectively.

The projects were aimed at ensuring that traders operate under safety condition to boost the economic activities in the various selected areas.
