ASUOGYAMAN:Major road networks improved
 | | | tarred road | |
Collaborative efforts between the government and the Asuogyaman District Assembly have brought about tremendous improvement in a number of road networks in the Asuogyaman District in the Eastern Region.
Most of these roads are significant towards the socio economic upliftment of the district since they form the core of the routs used by businessmen and women who trade in the district.
The roads included Asikuma-Boso,Frankadua-Aforde, Apeguso-Mpakadan, YeniamaJunction-Sedom-Gyakiti.
Works on these roads included, construction of culverts to improve free flow of running water, reshaping, bitumen surfacing and gravelling.
Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, Johnson Ahiakpor District Chief Executive commended government for its intervention in improving the aforementioned roads saying the Assembly could not have achieved this fit without it because amounts involved in constructing roads cannot be borne by Assembly. He expressed confidence that a lot more people who would previously not do business in the district because of the poor road networks would all come back now that the roads are better.
The Asuogyaman District is currently leading in aquaculture where tilapia production is increasingly becoming a common phenomenon. The vast water body also makes it one of the major surpply of fish products that attracts a number of traders from other parts especially the urban centres to the district.
The district is also noted for the production of farm produce in large quantities to feed other parts of the country.
