CAPE COAST: University road near completion

Road construction

The government of Ghana in collaboration with the Spanish Government is constructing the University Junction – Kwaprow and Kwaprow - Ankaful roads in the Cape Coast Municipality of the Central Region.

The move is to help eliminate the continuous occurrence of road carnage in the areas which is blamed usually on the poor nature of the road.

The projects which commenced in December last year is nearing completion.

James Okunyin Hayford, the Assemblyman for the area, disclosed this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com and expressed optimism that the project will bring great relieve to residents and motorists.

He commended the government of Ghana and the Spanish government for the project. He also called on government to direct attention to the construction of the Amamamoma-University new site drainage to curb the frequent flood in the community.

He noted the community was part of the recent flood which hit the country but attributed it to the poor drainage system.

The assemblyman further appealed to government to extend electricity to other parts of the community, adding that the community had grown in size due to the university hence the need to expand  electricity to meet the demand of the people.
