THLD:Four communities to get electricity

Electrcity connection

Four communities in the Twifo Heman Lower Denkyira (THLD) district, Twifo Otuano Camp, Twifo Ntiamakro, Twifo No.1 and
Twifo No.9 are to be linked to the national grid under the SHEP 4 Electrification Projects in Ghana.

The announcement was made by the District Chief Executive DCE Mr. Joseph Foster Andoh when he introduced the consultants and contractors of the project to representatives of the communities at Twifo No.9.

The district according to the DCE is one of the beneficiaries of a 350m loan facility from the United State of America to some communities in some selected districts in the Central Region.

He appealed to farmers whose farmlands will be affected to exercise restraints as the contractor starts work on the project , adding that basic schools in the beneficiary communities will also be considered for the project that will take three months to complete.

The move he noted will enable students to study at night thereby enhancing their academic output.

The  Member of Parliament for Twifo-Eti-Morkwa constituency   and a Deputy Minister of Education, Mrs Elizabeth Amoah-Tetteh,  lauded  government for the project.

She was of the view that the Project when completed would open up the communities and create jobs opportunities as well as assist the communities in their socio-economic activities, such as welding, spraying, milling and the use of many domestic appliances.

The Chief of Twifo No 9, Nana Odeneho Gyampo II, was full of appreciation to the government and pleaded with the Member of Parliament to ensure that the COCOBOD extend their scholarship package to all communities in the area.
