TALENSI NABDAM:DCE/Chiefs plead for rehabilitation of roads

The District Chief Executive for the Talensi Nabdam District Assembly in the Upper East Region, Vivian Anafo has called on the government and the Regional Minister to come to the aid of the district and construct their roads, which she claimed were in a bad shape.
According to her contractors who were designated to work on some portions of the road in the district had abandoned the project and called on the Minister to intervene to save the situation.
This came to light when the DCE together with some Chiefs from the Talensi Nabdam district paid a courtesy call on the Regional Minister, Mark Woyongo in Bolgatanga.
The Chiefs were Saabalug Na Malteng, Paramount Chief of the Tongo Traditional Area, Naba Sigre Bewuo, Chief of Sakote and other sub chiefs from the area.
The Chief of Sakote expressed gratitude to the government for creating new districts in the Upper East Region, and the Talensi Nabdam district in particular.
The Regional Minister however assured the chiefs that plans were far advanced to execute work on the Tongo roads to help promote economic development in the area.
He also urged them to remain focused and be committed to their course, and discourage miscreants who intend to disrupt the governance process.
