The District Chief Executive for Bole, Alhaji Seidu Samson Abudu has vowed to further increase revenue collection in the district although the assembly has chalked successes in the area of revenue mobilization over the years.
According to him the assembly has observed that a lot of timber and charcoal operators in the district do not pay a pesewa to the assembly although the assembly’s bye-laws enjoin them to do so.
He estimated GHS 20,000 as revenue the assembly could get from the operators annually should they dutifully pay the revenue to the assembly.
Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com after a 2nd ordinary general meeting with the Assembly Members in the district Alhaji Abudu stated that he would as a matter of urgency invite the operators for a dialogue on a fixed rate for them to pay.
“We will not impose the revenue on them but it would be an agreeable amount by both the Assembly and the operators,” he said.
He encouraged the assembly members not to relent on the good work they are doing for the development of the Bole District and Ghana as a whole.
