NADOWLI: Announcement of new districts causes stir among residence

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Nadowli in the Upper West Region, Abu Kansangabata has hinted that tension is looming in the district as the creation of a new district beckons.

According to him, there had been virtual uproar in the district from the fall-outs of the newly created district that was announced by the government.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Kansangabata disclosed that because of this he had sought refuge in another town in the Region, as he felt threatened by the actions of the youth in the district.

Mr. Kansangabata also indicated that, it was being rumored that people of the Eastern part of the district were deprived in development and were calling for independence in its status.

Meanwhile, the latest development from the district suggested that the situation had returned to normalcy, and the DCE has confirmed that he was back in the district.
