Sport is not only for keeping one healthy and active but a major business avenue which employs a lot of people.

For one to become a star requires a lot of investment to especially help identify talents to be nurtured into becoming very formidable force in their chosen sports.

It for this reason that the Agona East District Chief Executive, Martin Luther Obeng has decided to support a number of football teams in the district to help the teams nurture the talents of the children.

As a first step, the Chief Executive presented sets of jerseys and footballs to fifty-five (55) football teams in the district.

He said the district hopes to constitute a formidable football team by next year that will be assisted to compete through the ranks to get to the premier league.

“This is the way to ensure that we do not waste all these talents who could easily make it with little assistance” he stated.

He urged the players to take their passion seriously as well as education since spots and education go hand in hand.
