In her bid to ensure that security in Apam and its environs is not compromised, the Gomoa West District assembly as part of her massive infrastructural outlay has provided the police with three quarters for the police administration in the district.
The quarters provided at an estimated cost of GH¢ 71, 000.00 is expected to solve the accommodation difficulties confronting the officers at the police post.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon.Theophelous Adu Mensah made this known to Ghanadistricts.com when he accompanied them on a tour of the premises of the police post.
The three flats fitted with kitchen and corridors are located at the premises of the police station to give the officers easy access to the office in times of urgency.
The assembly also renovated the cells and provided a water closet for the comfort of inmates and also rid the place of insanitary conditions.
The district police administration also benefited from two sets of computers from the assembly, this according to the DCE will go a great length in ensuring effective data collection, processing and update that could serve as a source of reference for crime data in the district.
“The police service protects us day and night hence their comfort should be of paramount importance to us, so that they would be motivated well enough to give off their best,” the elated DCE observed.
