WENCHI: Sowing Machines for NYEP Graduates

The Brong Ahafo Regional branch of the NYEP program has presented 35 new sowing machines to fresh graduates of the trade and vocation module under the program.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries the regional coordinator of the program Amiwani Simons said the items are meant to motivate the new graduates and to give them a head start in their chosen vocation.

In an address the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive Yaw Osei Adjei reiterated government’s commitment to the growth of the program. He said the Mills led administration in the last 2 years has engaged more than 1,300 youth in the municipality as against only 200 people in the 8 years of the NPP administration.

The Department head of the program in the region Felix Ankamah said the objective of the youth in trade module is to give employable skills to the youth and to improve their standard of living.

He said government will soon create the “youth in mining “module to additional jobs for people in that sector.
