President Mills.

The family of President J.E.A. Mills has released its family house at Kissi in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem Municipality in the Central Region to the local Municipal Assembly Primary School.

That followed a request by the Head Teacher of the school, Mr Ebenezer Eduabeh, to the family.

At a short ceremony at Kissi, President Mills’s younger brother, Dr Cadman Atta Mills, who attended the school where their late father, Mr John Evans Atta Mills Snr, had taught, handed over the house to the school.

Dr Mills, who was accompanied by his brother, Mr Samuel Atta Mills, also presented 16 computers to the school and 10 footballs and jerseys to two teams in the town.

He also donated GH¢10,000 to needy school pupils of the school. and advised the people to set up a committee to administer the fund.

For his part, President Mills thanked the people of Kissi for the warm reception accorded him for the short ceremony.

He recalled with fond memories the time the family stayed at Kissi and said he shared the problems of the people of the area.

Mr Eduabeh expressed the gratitude of the teachers and pupils of the school to the President and his family for acceding to his request and said the school also needed a kindergarten block and a library.

He also drew the attention of the President to the poor drainage system in the town which led to persistent flooding of the school and caused damage to school property.

The Queen of Kissi, Nana Efua Badu II, commended President Mills and his family for releasing the house, which is under renovation, to the school.

The Central Regional Minister, Mrs Ama Benyiwa-Doe, said the family had also decided to build a six-classroom block for the school.
