The Association of Methodist Men’s Fellowships has commended the Omanhene of Offinso, Nana Wiafe Akenten III, for his extraordinary contribution and commitment to the growth of the Fellowship and Methodism. It said it was deeply touched by the tremendous support the chief has been giving to the Church and the Fellowship over the years. This was contained in a citation read by the National Chairman, Mr George Omane, at a thanksgiving service held by the association at the Old-Tafo Wesley Methodist Church in Kumasi. It noted that there had never been any occasion where Nana Wiafe Akenten had turned down an invitation to him by the association, either at the national or diocesan level to be part of its programme. "We have become fond of your incisive speeches anytime we have an encounter with you, be it in your palace, private residence or any of our functions." Your financial and material contributions toward the growth of the church in general and the fellowship in particular, is well noted and documented both here and in heaven", it said. It recalled that recently the Golden Jubilee Synod of the Kumasi Diocese was held at Offinso and the special role he played towards the success of the synod, attested to his love for God and the building of his Kingdom." Responding, Nana Wiafe Akenten thanked the Fellowship for the recognition, saying the citation had come to him as a surprise.
