The Suame magazine an industrial, commercial and artisanal cite in Kumasi seem to be losing its apprentice to other vocation following a drop in the patronage of their products and lack of respect from the society.
The artisans most of whom are graduates from tertiary institutions from the region and the sub-region also cited lack of trading opportunities and ready market for their products upon passing out and starting their respective businesses.
The turn of events at the magazine in the Ashanti Region has left most vehicle dealers, artisans, containers designers and metal work factories to contemplate closing down or reducing the size of their enterprises.
The magazine known for its master craftsmanship and state of the act metal products most of which are highly patronized on the sub-region have already lost a good numbers of the estimated twenty thousand apprentices the center could boost of some few years back.
A source close to Ghana districts revealed that the apprentices most of whom opted to learn the artisanal trade for lack of funds to pursue their education to an appreciable level, are now taking advantage of the various education programs being pursued by the various district assemblies as computer literacy among others.
The metropolitan authority according to the source is working in tandem with the officials of the magazine to stem the trend.
